A little about Es Llombards
A village of around 600 people in the municipality of Santanyí, between Santanyí and Ses Salines. There are golden sandstone lanes, arched gateways and dry-stone walls with fig trees growing behind them.
Allow ten to twenty minutes for a look around.
The turning for the coves
This is where you turn off. Cala Llombards is about eight minutes away, with Caló des Moro and Cala s’Almunia around ten — some of Mallorca’s best-known coves.
The village gives you a sense of this area before its beaches became famous: small, agricultural and built from local stone.

Practical details
The small village shop is your last chance to buy supplies before reaching the coves. At Cala Llombards, Caló des Moro and Cala s’Almunia, facilities are limited or absent.

When to visit
March and October are good choices, when the coves are quieter too. February brings almond blossom to the surrounding fields.
In July and August, traffic heading to the coves fills the narrow streets. Es Llombards becomes more of a bottleneck than a peaceful village.
