Legal information

Privacy policy

This explains what data is processed when you visit Mallorca Fritz, who is responsible and what rights you have. The English pages do not load analytics, advertising scripts or booking widgets.

1. Who is responsible

Friedhelm Fischer
Wiesenstraße 7, 32469 Petershagen, Germany

See also our legal notice.

2. Hosting and delivery

Mallorca Fritz is delivered through Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Its terms include a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Cloudflare is also certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Cloudflare operates a worldwide network. The data centre serving a page depends on your location and network conditions, and may be outside the European Union. According to Cloudflare, connection data is processed in the United States and Europe. This website does not use an additional service restricting processing to European locations.

To deliver pages and prevent attacks, Cloudflare processes necessary connection data: IP address, requested URL, time, amount of data transferred, referrer, browser and operating system information. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website.

Retention depends on Cloudflare’s policies; these do not specify one uniform period for all such data. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and list of subprocessors.

3. Server logs

I do not receive or keep server log files. Mallorca Fritz consists of static files, without my own application server or visitor database. The connection data described above is processed by Cloudflare and is not supplied to me. I therefore have no separate retention period for server logs.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The English edition does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not load Google Analytics or CHECK24. Some features you choose to use save information locally in your browser. This is separate from cookies and does not send your choices to me.

Saved places uses the local storage key mallorca-atlas-merkliste. Clicking Save stores only the place identifier — not your name, location or the time. This list is shared between the German and English editions on the same domain. You can remove individual places or clear the list on the Saved places page, or clear your browser’s site data. The storage provides the service you expressly requested under section 25(2)(2) of Germany’s TDDDG.

Sharing a saved list creates a URL containing the place identifiers after a hash sign (#). Browsers do not send this part of the URL to the server. People you send the link to can see the list; I do not receive it.

The holiday finder also works in your browser. It stores your choices under mallorca-atlas-finder, so they are not lost if you reload. These are selection values such as your travel month, beach preferences and the kind of place you want — not your name or contact details. Start again deletes this entry. Shared result links put the same choices after a hash sign; they are read locally by the recipient’s browser.

The car hire checklists remember ticked items under keys beginning mallorca-fritz-en-hire-. They contain item numbers, not booking information. Untick the items or clear your browser’s site data to remove them.

These settings remain until you remove them or your browser clears them. You can block local storage in your browser, although features may then stop remembering your choices.

5. If you visit the German edition

The German pages offer optional Google Analytics and, separately, a CHECK24 car hire comparison. Neither is loaded on English pages, even if you have previously enabled them on a German page. The German edition’s cookie settings allow you to withdraw either choice for future visits. Its consent choices are stored locally as mallorca-atlas-einwilligung and mallorca-atlas-check24.

The German privacy policy explains those optional services, their providers, data transfers, cookies and retention periods. Withdrawing consent does not retrospectively delete information already sent to a provider; you can also remove existing cookies through your browser settings.

6. Fonts, maps and external links

Fonts and the maps drawn on this website are served with the site rather than loaded from third parties. The English edition contains no embedded booking comparison.

Links to map services, transport timetables, museums and other providers are ordinary links. They do not connect to those providers until you follow them. When you do, your browser sends connection information, including your IP address, to the destination. Its own privacy policy then applies. Google and Apple map services may process data outside Europe. Our external map links use rel="noopener noreferrer" so the destination does not receive the referring page address.

The legal basis for providing useful links is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, with the legitimate interest of helping you plan your visit. The English edition has no affiliate offer links.

7. Contacting me

If you email me, I use the information you provide to deal with your enquiry, under Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. I delete it when the matter is resolved unless a legal retention requirement applies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights of access (Article 15), rectification (16), erasure (17), restriction of processing (18), data portability (20) and objection (21). You can complain to a data protection authority under Article 77, including the authority where you normally live or the authority responsible for me: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

9. Sharing places

Share this place does not load social media plugins. When you click it, your device’s sharing menu opens if supported. It receives the page title and public URL without tracking additions. You choose the app and recipient; the chosen app’s privacy policy applies to its subsequent processing. This website does not log sharing actions.

If your device has no sharing menu, clicking the button copies the address to your clipboard. The website does not read existing clipboard contents. If copying fails, the address is shown for you to copy manually.

10. Date of this policy

This English-edition policy was updated in November 2026.
