Getting to know S’Alqueria Blanca
Around 1,200 people live in this village in the municipality of Santanyí, on the road between Santanyí and the south-eastern coves.
There are yellow-sandstone houses, a few lanes and a parish church much larger than you might expect. Most people simply drive through.
A reason to stop
The road to the Santuari de Consolació starts here. Its view over the south-east is one of the island’s finest, reaching the coast when the air is clear.

Staying here
Portopetro and Cala Mondragó are ten minutes away, and Cala Figuera is fifteen. If you’re staying in the south-east but find the coastal resorts too busy, this is a quieter alternative.
When to come
March and October, January for the clearest air, or February for almond blossom.
In July and August, traffic passes through on its way to the coves, though the village itself stays quiet.
