A compact sandy bay

Camp de Mar lies in the municipality of Andratx, with pale sand, pine-covered slopes and hotels and villas above the water.

It is a small resort, so the beach and nearby waterfront form the centre of most visits.

The island footbridge

A wooden bridge leads from the sand to a restaurant on a small rock offshore. It is the view most people remember from Camp de Mar. Follow any opening or access signs when you visit.

Walking towards Peguera

A coastal route towards Peguera runs around the headland, taking roughly an hour depending on the route and your pace. From above the rocks, you can look back across the bay.

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for this walk. Summer heat and limited shade make an early start worthwhile.

Golf above the resort

Golf de Andratx lies immediately above Camp de Mar. Its 18 holes spread through a valley between pine-covered slopes, with views towards the sea and Tramuntana.

Golf brings visitors outside the peak beach-holiday months too. If you play, staying nearby makes the trip from accommodation to course straightforward. If you don’t, the beach remains the main focus of the resort.

When to come

April and October are good choices for a quieter visit, with seasonal opening varying between businesses. The sea can still retain summer warmth in October, depending on the weather.

In July and August, the small beach fills during the morning. Winter brings many closures, but the coastal setting is still worth a look.
